Lifeline Aotearoa has been helping New Zealanders in crisis for over 50 years. Call 0800 LIFELINE (0800 543 354) or text HELP (4357) for free, 24/7, confidential support – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Whatever the issue, we’re here to listen. We’re committed to providing a safe, effective and confidential service to support the emotional and mental wellbeing of our callers and communities.

Calls and text messages are answered by well trained volunteers.

Volunteers undergo world class counselling training and supervision, providing a caring and professional service to a wide range of people in need. They deal with many kinds of issues including psychological and emotional distress, financial and work issues, marriage and family problems and with callers who are lonely, ill, depressed or the victims of violence or abuse.
